[ON THE MOVE]
  • FRANÇOIS GABART, GLENN ASHBY, PAUL GOODISON in the sailors division, the AC75(foiling design), the EASY TO FLY (series built foiling boat), the Imoca CHARAL, MULE AMERICAN MAGIC, T5 INEOS TEAM UK (prototype foiling boat) are among the projects and people nominated for the Foiling Awards which will be awarded on January 29 in Milan. The vote is open to the public.
  • CASSANDRE BLANDIN and MATTHIEU DAMERVAL have been selected by Sailing Organization Guillemot to take the helms, during 2019, of the two Figaro 3s acquired by Marc Guillemot’s company.
  • MANUEL COUSIN (photo) and DAMIEN SEGUIN (video) won the Image Awards organized during the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe.

  • PLASTIMO are looking for a commercial assistant to work B to B this is a  permanent position in Lorient (France).
  • NKE are seeking an electronics and embedded software engineer the position is based in Hennebont (France)
  • OUTREMER is looking for a project / process project manager; this is a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in La Grande Motte.
  • VPLP are looking for an engineer who is a specialist in the analysis of composite structures (5 years of experience in the desired environment) to reinforce their current team; this is a permanent position in Vannes.
  • JOLOKIA is looking for a preparer for his Volvo 60; the position is a fixed-term contract for 6 months from mid-January, based in Lorient.
  • MARINE PRO, a specialist in the sale of marine equipment in Switzerland, is recruiting a sales technician to strengthen their team; positions are on a permanent contract (Swiss contract) based in Lausanne.
  • CDK is seeking joiners / laminators / composite operators (M / F); positions are fixed-term contracts of 6 months (which may evolve into permanent contracts) based in Lorient or Port-la-Forêt.
  • From January 2019, CHARAL SAILING TEAM / BEYOU RACING offer two positions one for a general preparateur with experience in IMOCA, one full-time, the other part time or a long-term internship; positions based in Lorient.

  • EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND and The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron have confirmed that the sixth team accepted as challengers will be the Dutch joint Royal Netherlands Yacht Club Muiden and Royal Maas Yacht Club challenge.
  • THE VALENCIA IMOCA GLOBE SERIES, due to take place April 2019, have been cancelled, because of a lack of support from State of Valencia.
  • MACSF, who were partners to Bertrand de Broc during the last Vendée Globe, has committed to the next racer as Isabelle Joschke’s title partner. Monin, who accompanied Joschke this year, remain a secondary partner. The team which is led by Alain Gautier is studying the financial feasibility of possible optimisation of the boat including the installation of foils and a mast-wing.
  • GENESIS has signed up with Emirates New Zealand as the official energy supplier for its Auckland base.
  • YANMAR will be the main partner of the 2019 Dragon Gold Cup which will take place from 9 to 14 June in Medemblik (The Netherlands).
  • The NEW YORK YACHT CLUB has unveiled its racing program for 2019.
  • The PC COURSE DU VENDÉE GLOBE 2020 will be set up only in Sables d’Olonne, and will no longer move to Paris, Yves Auvinet, president of SAEM Vendée said last week.
  • ROUTE DU RHUM: the organizers of the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe have published the first figures of the 2018 edition. The official website received 2.5 million unique visitors (35 million page views), the mobile application was downloaded 240,000 times, while the community across the social networks totalled 188,500 subscribers.

  • WORLD SAILING has launched a call for tenders for the support of the male and female windsurfing of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

  • CAFÉ JOYEUX, The Finot Conq design which is built in carbon which was the winner of the Route du Rhum in Mono Rhum class, is for sale. Reliable and ideal for shorthanded crewed sailing it is to be sold with a container, and a lot of spare material. It can be seen in Lorient. Price: 290 000 € VAT included. Contact: Sidney Gavignet.
  • Meanwhile YVAN GRIBOVAL is looking to sell the carbon hull structure and carbon deck, complete with moulds and tools from the 52.5-foot sistership Finot-Conq Café Joyeux winner of the Route du Rhum in the Mono Rum class. Price: 80 000 € ex VAT (value 1.3 million).
