SAILORS ON STAGE

WHY WIND?

Like us, you are crazy about racing boats; and like us, you find winter very long. You know, those grey weeks when we lack opportunities to satisfy our passion? It is with these periods in mind, when all sailors are gnawing at their sheets, that we designed Wind. A shoot of salty images and adrenaline in the heart of winter.

UNPUBLISHED MOVIES

With Wind, our ambition is to offer you new and exclusive films, some even produced especially for the event. On the programme: the most famous mediamen behind the camera, the best sailors in the discipline on screen, very different stories. Do you have ideas and/or films that match our criteria? Send us your suggestions!

SAILORS ON STAGE

Competitors will be the actors of the films shown at Wind, so we intend to bring them on stage so that they can tell us what’s behind the scenes! For the moment, most of them are at sea, we’ll announce their coming as we go along 😉.

"MAIDEN", FIRST MOVIE UNVEILED

“It was just something I had to do.” In 1989, Tracy Edwards, 24, put together an all-female crew for the start of the legendary Whitbread round-the-world sailing race. Looking down on the start of the race, the boat will finally make a triumphant finish in England.

“Fascinating”, “Powerful”, “Legendary”, this film full of emotions retraces a historic stage of competitive sailing where Tracy Edwards will come to inspire great sailors such as Samantha Davies, Ellen Mc Arthur or Florence Arthaud.

This odyssey as seen by director Alex Holmes is touching, moving and makes you want to sail alongside a crew that is now iconic. Tracy Edwards leads her boat with such conviction that it is impossible to resist her will and her smiling phlegm. A story of the sea, women and goals to cross, Maiden is an essential movie.
