EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND has announced the recruitment to its sailing team of four top athletes: Dougal Allan (multi-sports), Hamish Bond, three-time world rowing Olympic champion, Louis Crosby (cycling) and Cameron Webster (rowing).
LOUAY HABIB has been hired as communications manager for the Royal Ocean Racing Club of Cowes (RORC).
SAM MANUARD, renowned architect in the Mini, Class40 and Imoca class, has joined the design team of the Swiss challenge Alinghi Red Bull Racing (see his interview in Voiles & Voiliers).

THE SOLITAIRE DU FIGARO will start from Caen on August 27 and will finish in Loire-Atlantique departement, probably in Piriac-sur-Mer.
THE INTERNATIONAL PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE has not selected sailing for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. Sailing last appeared at the Rio Games in 2016.
THE FFVOILE has communicated the composition of the French Olympic team for the year 2023, 16 sailors have been selected in the ten series which will be represented at the Paris 2024 Games.
THE GUYADER BERMUDES 1000 RACE, a race on the program of the Imoca Globe Series, will start this year on May 7 with an unchanged 1000-mile course which will pass by Cape Finisterre and the Fastnet, before returning to Brest. This 4th edition will be contested for the first time in doubles.
LOW CARBON, a company specializing in renewable energies, has signed up for three years as a partner of the British SailGP team.

SAILGP has revealed that the New Zealand team’s F50 was damaged by a lightning strike in Singapore and will not be able to be repaired in time for the next Grand Prix in Sydney. The Kiwis wil race the boat from the Canadians until the end of the season, who will take possession of the tenth boat which has just been built.

ROM ARRANGE has announced the launch of an agency in the Mediterranean, based in Mauguio, near Montpellier.
THE TRANSAT JACQUES VABRE has announced the launch of the call for applications for the Cap pour Elles project, initiated during the 2021 edition, which aims to have two women sail in Class40 on the transat. The project will be led by Anne Combier.
