LORIENT GRAND LARGE has announced that Lorient-Les Bermudes-Lorient, which should have taken place in 2019 will now take place in 2023, open to multihulls over 20 meters, double-handed or single-handed. Lorient is also a candidate to host a stage of the Solitaire du Figaro 2022 and will be the finish port of Retour à la Base, a single-handed transatlantic race from the Transat Jacques Vabre 2023, reserved for Imoca and qualifying for the Vendée Globe. A rallying (that is timed rather than head of head off the same start at the same time) transatlantic race will run after the Jacques Vabre 2021, the premise of this new race, will also be organized this year.
THE IRC RULE for the year 2022 was adopted at the recent IRC Congress which announced that the 2022 European Championship will be held from August 24 to 28 in Breskens (Netherlands).
FRENCH OLYMPIC SAILING WEEK OF HYÈRES TOULON PROVENCE MÉDITERRANÉE has been confirmed for the next three years. The 2022 edition, which will bring together the ten Olympic series of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will be held from April 23 to 30.

OC SPORT PEN DUICK launched the Club Grand Large Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, on October 19, the objective being to bring together companies around their shared common interest in ocean sailing.
THE RORC BALTIC RACE is the name of a new 630 mile race that will be launched in 2022, with a start (July 21) and finish in Helsinki.
WORLD SAILING kick-started its campaign for sailing to be reinstated in the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles (USA) in 2028.
11TH HOUR RACING are launching a French version of their Toolbox, a tool intended to facilitate internal sustainable development programs.
VIRTUAL REGATTA is launching in the Transat Jacques Vabre a competition dubbed ‘There will be only one‘, the winner of which, following a selection process, will gain the right to actually compete on the double-handed transatlantic race in 2023.
